Air nomad names must have a Tibetan origin.

Earth Kingdom names are generally of a Chinese origin with some exceptions in Sanskrit and Japanese.

Water Tribe names are primarily Inuit/Alaskan native.

Fire Nation names seem to have a root in Japanese. They're generally formed with harsh letters (many 'z's). It is recommended that Fire Nation members keep their names below three syllables and attempt to refrain from giving their characters flowery names.

The site is set in the same time period as Korra, with some modifications due to the difference in the series of events. In other words, crop tops and skinny jeans are highly discouraged, but pants on women would not be unusual except in the case of the Northern Water Tribe. Most characters should have attire that matches their background.

All characters, with few exceptions, should have natural hair colors. It's best to keep them black or brown but red and blond are occasionally allowed for ease in finding suitable images. Water tribe members should always have dark hair.

Many liberties can be taken with eye color. Waterbenders often have blue eyes; Earth, green; Fire, gold or amber; Air, gray. Nonbender eye colors vary depending on their nation of origin. Pretty much anyone can have brown eyes.
