PHYSICAL APPEARANCE-

Uki has hair that borders between dark brown and black. It falls just below her shoulders, though more often than not portions are pinned or tied back, giving it a shorter appearance. Since arriving in Ba Sing Se she had diverged from the traditional loops and buns of her people, after falling for the hair pins and needles that she found many Earth Nation Women to be wearing.
Her eyes are a stormy blue, pale and almost grey, more so near the outer rims. They darken closer to her pupils and are framed by lashes long enough to touch her cheeks when she closes her eyes.

As a Water Nation woman Uki isn't typically stick-slender, she has a woman's curves and the exercise needed in her bending had given her broader shoulders and muscles in her arms and legs. She is not however, a solid rectangle of body, and remains at the relative low point on both height and weight.

PERSONALITY OVERVIEW-

Uki, like most Water Tribe individuals, is a female as adaptive as she is loyal. While it is a natural talent for her to move and act depending on the world around her, it is rare that she allows her own nature to be changed by what she witnesses or experiences. Able to change but just as easily able to decide to remain the same, Uki is an individual highly in tune with herself, as well as the natural world around her. However, when it comes to other people, there is less stability and connection than she would perhaps like.

So connected with herself, Uki often finds herself seperated from others. In social situations she is awkward, shy, and will more often than not say something she will either regret later, or cause trouble now. Her shyness does show itself in the form of quiet, but just as often it is the exact opposite. Uki is prone to laughing whenever she is embarrassed, nervous or upset, it is a defense mechanism that has been in place for as long as she can remember. Perhaps the logic is flawed, but she believes that if she can laugh at herself, she will appear stronger. Despite this, laughing in itself when it is natural is one of her favorite things to do. She can say things without thinking and in the same way act rashly, though for the most part when she is in a situation she is comfortable with she's quite thoughtful and patient. When driven to it Uki can become snappy and sarcastic, though without much practice she is just as likely to make an insult directed to herself instead.
These features are the negative aspects of her adaptive nature, so much so that her very personality changes by her comfort in any given situation.

Uki loves going fast, whether this be swimming, flying or riding on the backs of otter penguins. Her alignment to the natural world however has thus far kept a fairly negative view on motor vehicles or any form of new technology, though to be fair this is a bias and untried view. She is also fond of reading and drawing, though she is fairly inadequate at the latter and refuses to accept it. Her ability to find solitude in these hobbies is largely what drew her to them in the first place.

SPIRITUALITY-

Uki was raised as a member of the Water Tribe and as a Water Bender, and thus has a strong belief in the Spirits and their World. For a regular nondescript bender, she is relatively in tune with the spirits, though can by no means contact or invoke their presence or guidance in any way. 

FIGHTING STYLE-

Ui fights in a kind of style referred to as 'water dancing'. While typically used in sword-play or other forms of physical combat, Uki puts the 'water' right back into 'water dancing'. This method of combat puts he user under constant movement, while like most waterbenders she uses the water as an extension of her own body. The constant movement allows for her natural reflexes to result in a high rate of dodges when in combat, as well as a smoother stride in which she can step in to deal a blow before moving away. Her movements typically consist of slow spins, and steps both foreward and back, while her arms keep a flow of water moving around her.

HISTORY-

Uki was born in one of the smaller outer villages of the Southern Water Tribe, the second child and first daughter. Her older brother Nuka was born four years before her. Her bending abilities became apparent when she was still a child, and once she was old enough to understand the meaning of this, her father, a bender himself, began her training. 

Her father was older than his mother, and truthfully closer to the age of a grandfather in relation to Uki, not that it mattered to her at all. He was a slow, peaceful man who believed that anything worth doing took time. He taught the same patience to Uki, and as she grew the two spent long hours meditating and practicing together. Her bending was all-encompassing, not because it was strenuous or she was worked extraordinarily hard, but because Uki found more joy and peace in it than she did in anything else. Her family of course she loved, but she was lacking in friends while at the same time lacking in her ability to make any. Pouring all of her practice into her craft, there was little left to practice with people.

When she turned seventeen Uki's father died. Nuka at this point was twenty-one and had long since moved away, being a man in his own right and finding a wife to start a family with. Left alone with her mother, Uki was struck again and again by the desire to leave. Her love for her home was strong, which only strengthened the confusion she felt along with her desire, and slowly she became more and more anxious for a decision to be reached. Nothing was happening on its own, so for once, her patience ran out. Deciding to leave the ice and snow of her home behind, Uki prepared herself to travel. She had no real goal in mind, only the urge to see the rest of the world and quell he restlessness within her own soul. Bidding farewell to her mother and brother, she left and hasn't looked back for months.
Ba Sing Se was her first destination, and enjoying the change, she has yet to move on.
