The Water Tribes have been two separate entities for some time. The Northern Water Tribe is far more traditional and does not allow women to learn much aside from healing, but it's far more successful and populated than the Southern Water Tribe.
One is located at the north of the world and one at the south. Both are cold and icy and their citizens have dark skin and hair. |

The native home of the current Avatar, Guowei, the Earth Kingdom has become the largest power in the world since the demise of the Fire Nation.
The Earth Kingdom is located on an enormous landmass and consists of various cities. Ba Sing Se, the most heavily fortified city in the world and the capital of the Earth Kingdom, is located here. |

Central City is the neutral land of all four nations and the groupings of vagabonds. It's booming in trade and activity. All benders and nonbenders are welcome, but this is a peaceful land with less tolerance for violent benders. Watch out for the police.

Under Sozin's rule, the Fire Nation was forced to fight a war they could never win. The other nations promptly struck back, killing many before Sozin finally passed. As of today the Fire Nation's population has dwindled to an eighth of its original size and the bending population is almost nonexistent.
The Fire Nation is located on a series of islands near the world's equator. The islands are quite mountainous, with a large inactive volcano centering itself on the main island. |

Once, the Fire Nation planned to wipe out the Air Nomads. Their plan, however, was prevented before it began. The Air Nomad population is healthy and although their Avatar died as a boy they have a strong voice in international politics and the respect of the other three nations.
The Air Nomads are a peaceful people who live scattered across four temples. Many of these are located on mountaintops or islands and all are very isolated. After a certain age, many airbenders choose to travel the world. |

An island inhabited by vagabonds unaffiliated with any of the four nations. They often travel throughout the world seeking any form of job. Motivations vary depending on the individual but they have a haphazardly elected leader known as the Vagabond Lord.
